+ VATThis half day live online course offers those in safeguarding leadership the opportunity to fulfil the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education for regular updates. It is essential that your knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures is not only in-depth but also up to date and meets the statutory requirements.
Whether experienced or new to the role of DSLs this session will explore key changes and initiatives using a range of activities to maximise participation, including relevant case scenarios tailored to the needs of delegates and sharing of best practice. All providing you with the support on how updates and changes in statutory legislation and best practice guidance, since previous training, affects your role and safeguarding practices within the setting. There will be opportunities provided for questions as well as networking with other safeguarding professionals.
Refresh your knowledge of the role and responsibilities of the DSL;
Provide DSLs with a comprehensive annual update;
Gain an understanding of the changes in KCSIE
Provide an opportunity to update knowledge and explore topical concerns, including child on child sexually harmful behaviour and sexual harassment;
Look at ways to respond to mental health concerns in school settings;
Share good practice in meeting statutory requirements;
Refresh understanding of thresholds for concern from early help to protection and the procedure for making a referral;
Gain a refresher of the child protection process including CP conferences and the contribution of the school;
Explore good practice relating to allegations and low-level concerns about staff and volunteers who work with children.
