Course introduction

Working to meet the needs of a diverse range of pupils/students is challenge in both schools and colleges. For the SENCo/ALNCo this is even more challenging, given the specific and complex needs of the pupils/students they look after. Learning to juggle daily work demands including data, assessments, paperwork can be tricky. This course is designed to help the participants to identify parts of their role which take up so much of their time, unpick ways to save time and manage tasks effectively by introducing powerful and flexible tools that are simple to integrate into a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

What we will cover throughout the day

  • Identify innovative ways to support the role to save time;

  • Look at top time saving tips when organising meetings with staff and parents;

  • Explore the use of technology to save time;

  • Consider ways to help become more 'paperless';

  • Effective ways to make the referral process more time effective.
