What we will cover throughout the day

• Understand the key differences between dyscalculia and other maths difficulties.

• Recognise common indicators of dyscalculia and maths difficulties and know what to look for in the classroom.

• Explore how maths anxiety, cognitive difficulties and co-occurring needs can affect mathematical learning, confidence and engagement.

• Understand the role of checklists, screening, assessment, intervention and diagnostic pathways.

• Apply practical strategies, including manipulatives, games and targeted approaches, to better support learners experiencing difficulties with maths.

Cat Eadle

Cat is a qualified teacher (B.Ed. Oxford University) and dyscalculia specialist (Level 5) with over 30 years of teaching experience, including 22 years as a dyscalculia and maths difficul...ties specialist. She is a specialist tutor and co-author, with Prof. Steve Chinn, of the series of Dyscalculia books, ‘Succeed with Dyscalculia’. Cat divides her time between running her tutoring business and running and developing the Dyscalculia Network. • The course will run via Zoom from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, however, the trainer will be available 15 minutes before and after the course times to answer any questions.
• You’ll receive mid-morning, lunch and afternoon breaks to re-energise.
• This course is designed to be interactive and inclusive. We welcome questions and discussions throughout and we want you to be comfortable and stress-free no matter where you join us from!
• Your course handouts will be emailed to you on the morning of the course.
