Schools are under constant pressure. Staff are managing rising emotional needs, inconsistent behaviour and pupils who struggle to cope when things go wrong, often with approaches that rely too heavily on individual resilience rather than shared systems.
This course supports schools to move beyond one off wellbeing initiatives and develop a consistent, whole-school approach to building emotional resilience. It focuses on how resilience is intentionally developed through everyday practice, shared language and aligned systems, not left to chance or individual coping alone.
Participants gain practical, evidence-informed tools to help children recognise emotions, manage setbacks, solve problems and build self-belief in ways that can be taught, practised and reinforced across classrooms, pastoral provision and wider school culture.
The course emphasises preventative, sustainable approaches that reduce pressure on staff, improve consistency, and support pupils to cope more effectively with challenge, change, and difficulty over time.
By the end of the course, schools are equipped with clear strategies to embed resilience into daily practice, creating calmer classrooms, more confident pupils and a culture where emotional resilience is built intentionally, not reactively.
As part of the course, schools also receive a structured 10-session programme designed to translate whole-school principles into consistent classroom and pastoral practice. The programme provides staff with clear session plans and activities that support children to develop emotional awareness, adaptability, problem solving and coping strategies over time. Each session builds sequentially, reinforcing shared language and approaches so that resilience is taught, practised and embedded consistently, supporting pupils to navigate challenge and change with increasing confidence.
